Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
My family does not celebrate christmas, and I didn't celebrate the holiday season growing up. It's a little weird to celebrate christmas as someone who grew up in Indo because you don't get the snow, the fireplaces, the religious lore or any of the festivity. But I still enjoy wishing merry christmas to my friends who celebrate christmas, and to you! A few of my friends get me stuff, and I get them stuff back. Gift exchanges can be celebrated easily regardless. Christmas is really just consumerist propaganda pushed by western society but the paid break I get from work sure isn't!!!
The new year is coming in just a few days. For the first time in a while I did feel like the year was appropriately long. I felt every day of every month, good and bad. I accomplished a lot of things and hope to accomplish more in the coming year. I'll be horredously busy because I have to balance responsibilities and art but I want to draw more next year. I made good progress experimenting with colors this year and drawing simpler stuff. I think that's more to where I'm aiming my art to be.
It's been one year since this website has been up and running. I think I only really finished building it around February this year though. It's been super cool seeing all the hits and comments I get and watching the clap meter increase!! I always wonder how people find my site so it would be awesome if you guys can tell me more about your thoughts on my website... those always make me happy to read. In regards to projects I don't really have much cooking. I've been to busy with real life stuff and selling stickers online. I only hope people will continue to care about the drawings I make and post online and look forward to the stuff I do to this site. I think amfmradio's art archive is one of the few accomplishments I can proudly tell people about. I think one of the cooler things I've experienced running it is when Indons stumble onto my site thinking I'm a westerner and being surprised I'm a local lol. I hope that it encourages my neighbors to make their own sites!!!
I try to remember this post I saw that was like, "Kalau capek, itu bagus, artinya kamu berkembang". Means 'if you're tired, that's good, it means you're growing'. I think it is comforting to hear as someone who is unsure of what they are doing all the time and if their actions are even worth it. I hope it comforts you too. Especially at such an uncertain time like now when the ever looming doom of late-stage capitalism haunts your everyday life. I try not to think about it. Just do what you can and do your best is what I tell myself.
